Filiform corrosion always starts at coating defects such as scratches and weak points such as beards, cut edges and holes. \u00a0Filiform corrosion is more severe when\u00a0chloride\u00a0concentrations on metal are high, such as in the case of aluminum profiles installed at coastal regions.<br \/>BFP\u2019s coatings have been specially formulated to protect the cut edges and holes of painted aluminum profiles, as well as the flat or curved surfaces of bare aluminum profiles by imparting to them barrier properties, which decrease oxygen and moisture penetration, and reduce\u00a0solvent entrapment, and initiation sites.
